The Police and Ticketmaster

So we bought tickets for The Police reunion tour this summer.  We did that on Ticketmaster because, well, they’re the only game in town really.  Paid a couple of lattes per ticket for the privilege.  Now, in my email today, I get a message from said monopoly telling me that if I can’t go to the concert, I should sell my tickets on TicketExchange.  Which is owned by said monopoly.  Probably for another couple of lattes per ticket.

That is a racket that rivals insurance.

  1. Hi Brett. I first saw The Police on Nov. 12, 1980 at McFarlin Auditorium. They had just released Zenyatta Mondatta. The ticket price was $ 9. Pretty good concert as I recall.

Also keep up the non-smoking streak. I smoked for 25 years and sure wished I hadn’t. My last cigarette was Dec. 31, 1999.

  3. $9 huh? Now that would be a refreshing change of pace. 🙂

Thanks for the positive feedback and glad you read my blog. I’m looking forward to softball, even if we have to play in competitive.

  5. Yeah, I read it pretty regularly. You always have interesting topics to contemplate. As far as softball goes, we still have a really good hitting guys lineup ( you, Chris, Brad, Kevin, Kenny & Jeff ) . If our girls can play decent, I think we’ll be okay.

P.S. One of my fondest memories of our Championship last season was the play when I somehow short-hopped Jeff’s relay throw & tagged that guy out at home. I heard you on the bench going crazy. That was fun & it got me real psyched. From that point on, I knew we were going to win it all.
