WordPress Problems With Single Quotes

For some reason, my WordPress installation has suddenly started thinking that when I post a “‘”, it needs to make it two. Unless there‘s already 2 and then it makes it 4. I‘ve had no luck figuring out what in the hell is the problem so my workaround is to put in the HTML code for a single quote. It‘s a pain in the ass but I suppose it will work for now.

UPDATE: No resolution at all, it could be about 40 different things and I’m not sure I’m interested in tracking it down. Trying to decide if it’s worth the 60 minutes of my life to change blog mechanisms. I miss writing but not convinced writing misses me.

  1. Yeah, I noticed! What’s up with that?

  2. I really don’t know though I suspect that somewhere I’ve added or deleted a character in the PHP code that now interprets single quotes in a strange way. I’m going through all that now but what a pain.
