More Expensive, Less Service and No Flexibility? Sign me up!

Heard about MovieLink? It’s this great new service where you can download movies if you like to pay twice as much as you would for DVDs, to not be able to play them on your TV because your DVD player won’t recognize the format, to only be able to play them on a limited number of computers (do people really watch movies on computers?) and to generally get screwed.

On top of that, the site doesn’t support Firefox or Netscape. Who thought this was a good business idea? I can’t think of one thing good about this. This sounds like something that just wasn’t even close to ready for prime time and they rolled it out anyway. Maybe the economy is turning around if business ideas like this can get funding.
